KOVAN SUPERSTAR 2010 ORGANISING COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER OR MODIFY THE FOLLOWING RULES & REGULATIONS, AND TERMS AND CONDISTIONS DURING THE COURSE OF THE COMPETITION WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

Rules and Regulations

Part I (For All Contestants)

1.All contestants must be between 13 -26 years of age as of 1st January 2010.

2.All contestants are required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee upon registration. For applications through email, the Registration Fees are to be paid to organizer via special arrangements as determined by organizers.

3.Registration Fee(s) must be paid in CASH. No other forms of transactions will be accepted (e.g. NETS, Cashcard, credit card, cheque, cashier order payment).

4.Contestants must not be finalists of KOVAN SUPERSTAR 2009.

5.Contestants are to remain contactable by the organizing committee throughout the competition period. The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any contestants who are not contactable.

6.Contestants shall make full and honest disclosure of particulars as requested in the application form.

7.Allocation of selected slots for audition is not guaranteed. (1st come 1st serve basis)

8.The order in which each contestant competes is determined randomly.

9.All contestants are to be present for the competition at the estimated and posted start time.

10.Performances containing vulgarities, explicit sex, political issues, discriminatory or religious messages, and drugs are prohibited. Performers who indulge in these activities will be disqualified from the competition.

11.Performers found to be on drugs or intoxicated will be disqualified immediately.

12.No communication is allowed with the judges during, before and after competition, except at designated time slots on stage.

13.Each contestant, his/her family or associates who exhibit offensive behavior during any portion of the contest may result in his/her disqualification from the competition. If the contestant, his/her family or associates exhibit offensive behavior after the contestant has competed, and such behavior is in the host establishment, the contestant can still be disqualified even after the results have been officially announced.

14.Judges’ decisions are final. Any forms of complaints with regards to the results will not be entertained by the judges or the organizing committee. Any contestant, his/her family or associates who argue with the judge will be deemed as unacceptable and will result in the disqualification of the contestant from the competition.

15.If a contestant was to be disqualified for certain reason/s in any category, the next best contestant in line will replace him/her.

Terms and Conditions

1.KOVAN SUPERSTAR 2010 (Hereinafter referred as “Competition”) is a singing competition organized by Xtreme Youth Zone Inc. and Heartland Mall - Kovan (Hereinafter referred collectively as “The Organizer”). The following terms and conditions shall to apply to all stages of the competition as well as all participating contestants.

2.The organizers reserve the right to change the dates and venue of the competition if necessary.

3.The organizers are not liable for any injuries sustained and damage to/loss of personal equipment/instruments throughout the course of competition.

4.All prizes won by the Contestant during the Competition are not transferable nor exchangeable for cash or otherwise. Prizes in the form of trips, accommodations or service package(s) can only be used by the Contestant at such times as specified by the Organizers or Sponsors.

5.Contestants each irrevocably give all consents and waiver necessary for the Organizer to record and use their photos, video and/or audio recordings in such manner or purpose (commercial or otherwise). Organizer shall own the sole and exclusive rights to the performances of the Contestants in the Competition and events/activities related to the Competition. Each Contestant hereby assigns all vested, contingent and future rights he or she may have in his or her performance(s) to the Organizer absolutely. Each Contestant unconditionally waives any and all rights that he or she may have in relation to his or her performance to which he or her may be entitled under any law(s) or moral right(s) or similar right(s) to which the Contestant might be entitled in any country.

6.All performances by the Contestants shall not infringe any rights (including copyrights) of, or defame/embarrass any person or company and each Contestant shall indemnify the Organizer from and against all claims arising from a breach of this term. In addition, Contestants shall indemnify the Organizer against the liability whatsoever in respect of any loss, damage or injury sustained at any stage of the Competition, whether or not caused by the Organizer.

7.The Organizer reserves the right to amend or vary any of the terms and conditions without prior notice to any Contestants.

8.In the event of any dispute concerning the operation of any element of the Competition or the terms and conditions, the decision of the Organizer is final.

9.No fees, royalties residuals or other consideration will be payable to the Contestants in respect of any broadcast, subsequent rebroadcast or any other use by the Organizer.

10.Contestants shall be short-listed to undergo various events and Competition stages. Short-listed Contestants will make themselves available and render all reasonable assistance to the Organizer in connection with the promotion, marketing, publicity and obtaining sponsorship of the Competition.

11.Contestants consents to the disclosure of personal information and particulars to third parties including but not limited to journalists, judges panel, sponsors and the public.

12.Competition prize money will be paid according to the judges’ decision following the announcement of winners. Any complaint or reason which causes the disqualification of a winning contestant will constitute a right of the contestant next in line to replace the position. The new winner will only receive the respective prize payment until the disqualified contestant has returned such money or prize awarded. It will not be the responsibility of KOVAN SUPERSTAR 2010 or any of its representatives to recover any money or prize awarded a contestant who is disqualified.
